I don't feel he represents me. But he represents my being naive, not in touch enough with my own shadow to have seen the danger he is early on. I don't feel innocent; in fact my own point on Medium is about the dignity of paying attention to our inner lives. And yes, Trump is a symptom and we are all involved in letting this happen. I want him out, and I am ill he is there. I hesitate to applaud the politicians. But when I watched the DNC tonight I felt there was a chance to turn things around. I am loathe to get on any bandwagons, and what's more I don't feel I have a right.

I do however want to be in a conversation where I feel something greater than shame, where I feel the willingness and the possibility to move, to grow, to take responsibility yes, but not to erase my own dignity.
