As a Jewish Liberal, Processing Feelings about Israel

My friend Rachel, a New Yorker who transplanted to Israel many years ago, wrote to me yesterday. She wrote this time, telling me it must be lonely for me to process my own feelings. She meant about what is going on in Israel.

It was an empathy very unexpected from someone who has suffered terror and anguish, and the loss of several friends and friends of her children.
